Kerrie & Dave at The Old Kent Barn
I first met Kerrie & Dave back in March of 2016 at the Bluewater Wedding Show. They told me their plans for their beautiful wedding at Old Kent Barn in August 2017 and I knew I had to shoot it.
We met a couple of times in the build up to the big day and their vision was a simple yet beautiful wedding. There would be a string quartet, a London Routemaster to ferry the guests from nearby Canterbury and all kinds of beautiful details! Dave’s family and friends were flying in from Australia to share their big day.
The weather was spot on. Sun, big fluffy clouds and a light breeze. Old Kent Barn gardens looked stunning as per usual.
The girls got ready upstairs and I’m sure you will agree looked stunning! The guests duly arrived on the bus and the ceremony took place in the beautiful gazebo. A short and elegant ceremony witnessed by the two mums.
There were canapés and champagne on the lawn accompanied by the string quartet. Before the bus departed we managed to get some bridal portraits away from the guests. The tenderness and love between them was just perfect.
The wedding breakfast was a fun affair with a quiz mid point which was very very well received, The speeches were also an eventful time with one of the guests fainting mid way through the best mans speech (this obviously threw all the “length of speeches” betting out as we had to pause for 30 mins!!).
Smoke Grenade
The sun was setting so I took the couple out to the grounds to get their bridal shots. They loved the idea of a smoke grenade and the pictures we got were breathtaking.
The cake cutting was next (A real beauty by Joanna Clarke) and onto their first dance.
All in all a really fantastic day.
I’ve since made albums for Kerrie and Dave which they were delighted with, even buying some for their parents and taking them to Australia.
Another beautiful wedding at Old Kent Barn.
