Follow that Fire Engine : How it all led to a Tithe Barn Wedding
No really they did meet on a fire engine. Random i know. The Follow that Fire Engine was a project to raise money for charities and so far has raised over £120,000!! It circumnavigated the globe covering over 31,000 miles, 28 countries and 5 continents. Jim and Gemma were part of the crew and their love quickly grew upon leaving this once in a lifetime adventure.
Tithe Barn Wedding
The search for a wedding venue was always going to be a tough decision after that but both Jim & Gemma fell in love with the venue at first sight. A Tithe Barn Wedding was agreed and the date set for 10th June 2016.
Gemma (with minimal help from Jim) decided on a vintage/rustic/ country style wedding that fitted perfectly in with the Tithe Barn vibe.
Gemma and her family and bridesmaids hired a beautiful cottage nearby for her wedding preparation. Of course there were Jimmy Choo’s. Its a given really. Especially with Jim being a clinical giant and Gemma “slightly” shorter.
The men all wore blue suits (and matching socks). The stunning corsages and flowers were all done by Jay Archer Floral Design.
The venue was expertly decorated by Jim on the eve of the wedding with the help of the bridal party. Their table names were all places they had visited over their adventures together.
The day was perfect. Well apart from all the bridesmaids and Gemma’s Mum getting lost en route to the venue and turning up 45 minutes late!!
Jim’s best man, Jim (yep Jim!), nailed one of the best speeches I have seen. Absolutely hilarious.
I decided to try a smoke grenade during their bridal portraits. This was good fun yet slightly terrifying at the same time but the results were worth the risk.
Music was provided by The MP3’s who sang during the drinks and canapés and then resumed to rock late into the night.
Tithe Barn was a wonderful venue for a wedding. Gemma & Jim were the perfect couple. It rocked.
p.s. Jim lost his wedding ring whilst swimming on their honeymoon. Keep your eye out if your in Nice, Southern France!!
