Lulworth Castle Wedding by Chris Deller Photography
If you combine the hottest day of the year, a stunning couple, Jimmy Choo’s, amazing dress and a sunset to die for then you might end up with a day like Elle & Andy’s Wedding in Dorset.
I shot Elle’s brothers wedding way back and was delighted when Elle & Andy chose me to capture their BIG day. Lulworth Castle is AMAZING. I prayed for some great weather and those prayers were answered in spades! It was almost too nice if there is such a thing on your wedding day!
The wedding prep couldn’t have gone better. Jimmy Choo’s, a stunning dress and beautiful bridesmaids. And then there was Elle. She literally did not stop smiling from ear to ear. ALL DAY.
Elle is from England and Andy is an Australian. Upon arriving at Lulworth Castle I was greeted by their respected flags at the grand entrance. The place looked amazing. The flowers were simply breathtaking and the cake was perfect for the theme.
The ceremony room, bathed in sunshine looked simple, classy and stunning. A string quartet added to the wonderful vibe of the occasion. The ceremony itself was beautiful with more than a few tears.
Drinks on the lawn followed. Swing ball , croquet and Pimm’s. Its doesn’t get more quintessentially English. A few group shots in front of the castle then into the Wedding breakfast. The staff were amazing and the food devine.
The speeches over ran. And as I gazed out of the window I was sure we would miss the last of the sun as it was setting over the hill. A quick dash and literally 4 minutes of pictures as the sun dropped away. I tried the “ring of fire” technique for there first time. It worked and the results were more than I could have hoped for.
Time for the first dance and my drive back to London.
As days go it couldn’t be beaten. If I ever get to shoot another Lulworth Castle Wedding I will be very lucky indeed. I loved the place, the couple, the guests. TOP TOP DAY.
